As we are now starting to see some more favourable weather can we ask that all children bring in both suncream and a hat to protect them whilst they are playing outside. Please can you ensure that both are clearly labelled to avoid confusion.
It was pointed out to me recently that when choosing a sunscreen, it is important to look at both UVA and UVB protection. UVB is indicated by the sunscreen factor (30, 50) and UVA by the star rating. I was not aware of this and having looked further into it, it is advised for young children to have a UVA star rating of 4 or 5. I have included a link to the NHS guide for further information.
